Song of the month

Starting this year I've decided to post my song of the month each month (obviously).
This months song is "Stranded In Kodiak" by Mike Marshall and Chris Thile from their duet album "Into the Cauldron".

I think you might be happy to hear that I actually like that song! That's not the type of music I listen to often, but after hearing you play on Saturday, it's definitely growing on me. Very relaxing. I guess I shouldn't doubt your taste in music, right? ;)

I am extremly happy to hear that someone else had heard that song!!! Normally when I mention songs like that I end up getting the blank stare!

If you ever need more advice about music, just ask me! I'll be happy to lend you my services!! :~)

Well... truth be told, I had to look it up on iTunes, but shhhh we can pretend I knew it off the top of my head ;)

I have to agree with you...that's a great song! There's so much motion! It's like a nature walk or something that doesn't come back home but just keeps leading you on an engaging journey to who knows where but for some reason you trustingly follow wherever they're taking you, never really questioning why it is that you should listen to them anyway; but they're so alluring, why shouldn’t we follow them? And then it hits 03:45 and Chris just goes crazy on one note!!! Why is that so freaking brilliant?!?!?! Then, before you know it, they have you eating out of the palm of their hands just hanging on some undetermined progression that reluctantly fades into them going off alone into the distance and we are left alone marveling at their absence like some pathetic squirrel that just saw a human for the first time and isn't quite sure what to make of the odd figure standing upright with a sprout of fur growing out of the top of their head.
The crazy thing is that when it's over...we turn it on again!!!

"Shamrock Shore" is another great one. You can hear the room itself that they're recording in as if you were sitting in there listening to them. Pffht...and I thought harmonics were only on the 12th fret! :~)
